Back to School Service

Schools are like 'battlefields' these days and
the only protection that will keep our children safe is of God.
So, before the new school year starts, we made it our mission to have a service geared toward the needs of students: prayer (for all their needs: protection, classes, grades, friends, etc) and school supplies.

We prayed over the children...

And we gave out school supplies...

JCCAM Retreat!

This weekend (July 10th-12th) the Jesus, College, Career, and Me (JCCAM) group headed up to the Marin Headlands for our very first retreat.

We spent the weekend bonding, discussing and exploring our relationship with God, gaining and giving encouragement to one another and eating. There was lots and lots of eating. We also went on a nature walk and experienced, first hand, the wonder of God's natural creations. It was very humbling to see what His hand had created and realize just how small we are and how great He is.

Everyone who came on the trip gained a new understanding of the role God plays in our lives. There was such a great movement of His Spirit during our final rap session that we all left different [for the better!] than when we came.

It is always a powerful moment with we gather together in His name.

2009 Father's Day!

In the Image of My Father
"Dad, I wanna be just like you when I grow up..."

Sons want to be like their fathers when they grow up and Daughters want men in their lives that have attributes like their fathers. This put a tremendous amount of pressure on Men as they realize their children are looking at them daily to learn what's important; how to treat others, how to become men, how to show compassion, how to stand strong, how to fight for what's right, how to be a father, and so much more.

How effectively are we communicating to them the right things?

The definition of an image is likeness, representation, shadow of something, an example, or a reflection. God created man in His own image. Gen1:26. As a result, we have the perfect image of a Father to replicate. If we as Fathers strive to be more and more like Jesus to those around us, we will find it easier to fulfill our purpose as Fathers.

Ladies' Brunch

Women have strength that amaze men...
However, if there is one flaw in women, it is that they forget their worth!

On Saturday, June 13th, the women met for prayer, worship, more prayer and a time of encouragement. Sister Parham preached an inspiring passage about the alabaster box and God moved... (get the tape!)

It was awesome. If you weren't there, you missed it!

The pictures in the gallery can only show you who was there and the activities that took place, but the move of God and the fellowship shared cannot be understood or felt, unless you were there!

I encourage you to BE there next time...

Pentecost Sunday (Sunday May 31st)

Acts 2

1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

"Remember Me" with Tharp Ministries

Dr. Marty Tharp for many years has lit a flame in the hearts of the Word of Faith Church for the Presence of God both in song and in the preaching of the Word. He opened his heart in a transparent cry for the Body of Christ to come into a fresh relationship with their Savior. Dr. Tharp’s Ministry is not for the fainthearted, but for those who, in pursuit of God, are willing to die in the process. He is a man, continually dying in pursuit of God’s presence. His message is a call to leave the religiosity behind, which is a walk without enthusiasm, and become a true Worshipper of God and grasp His presence in a daily way.

Dr. Tharp’s Ministry provides immense help and insight for those dissatisfied with their level of devotion to God and their usefulness to others. Using Biblical and Faith-based life experiences, he by the Spirit of God sharpens the focus of everyone under the sound of his preaching. He teaches that a Christian’s priorities must be in proper spiritual order…God must be enthroned, the center, the absolute object of our whole life. He has actually lived that life for over 40 years of Ministry throughout the World. His sacrifice has and continues to be without measure.

Dr. Tharp is among the most influential, highly respected, and most sought after spiritual leaders on the planet. He posses eight Doctorates in everything from Theology to being an extraordinary author of several dozen books. His sacrificial life has afforded us Wisdom that we cannot afford to be without. What a blessing to us and the Kingdom of God to have known a man so blessed by Our God.

Mother's Day - 2009

"Follow A Godly Mother"
To be a Mother is to sow a seed of love, then watch it grow

Lord, We thank You for the Mothers You have placed in our lives
We pray in one accord that You would help us to properly honor them
Help us to receive the love that they have for us and are so willing to give
Help us to learn from their wisdom and selflessness;
To become beacon of light to all around us

Today, we want to thank You for the Godly Mothers that we can follow
We ask You to continue to bless them, comfort them, strengthen them
Provide all that they need, Let them remember Your promises
That You will never leave them nor forsake them

And those of us that are soon-to-be mothers, bless Your Name
We praise You for our motherly examples
Prepare us, pour into us, use us for our generation
Like the women in the Bible; Naomi, Hannah, Mary...
We want to be women that leave a mark on our generation for You O Lord
We want to be mothers who train our children in Your statutes
We want to bring honor to Your Name
We desire to be pleasing in Your sight Lord Jesus

We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers
In Jesus' Name we pray

National Day of Prayer

Pictures speak louder than words...

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Honoring Our First Lady

This past Sunday, we honored our First Lady. It was her birthday and the church made a presentation to her, both in song and adoration. We wouldn't have it any other way - she is God's gift to us and we love her.

Resurrection Sunday (Sunday, April 12th)

He's Alive! Our Savior is Alive!
Hallelujah!

The tomb is empty - He is Risen, Just like He said He would...
We serve a RISEN Savior!

Blessed be the Name of the Lord!

The morning started with the church watching a clip from 'The Passion' during Bible Training. Prayer and Praise for our Risen Savior followed at the start of the 10am service - the Worship Team ministered, the Mass Choir ministered and the Youth Choir ministered. The church was 'spiritually charged' and people were dancing, jumping, praising, singing, shouting, crying and so much more...

Then the Lord spoke to us through the Word: "Because of Jesus, We do Not Have to Be." He has done it all for us, taken our griefs, taken our sorrows, taken our transgressions, taken our iniquities, healed us from all infirmities...

Thank You Jesus, Thank You Lord...
Thank You...

Good Friday!

Bittersweet... but so beautiful.

Today we remember what Jesus took upon Himself for us. The cross that was meant to signify hurt, death and sorrow, has become a symbol of hope, love, and passion.

Our Lord's passion, for us.

Footwashing Service (Thursday, April 9th)

We do this only once a year and we have such a tremendous time serving and ministering to one another. And just like the rest of the week has been so powerful in focusing our eyes on Christ, we learned that as we washed one another's feet, we washed the feet of Jesus...

We washed the feet of Jesus
:-)

Communion Wednesday

Jesus is my passover!

Exodus 12:13
When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

1 Corinthians 11:24-25
And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
